Flue Pipes and components

Our flues are made from seamless 0.5 mm grade 304 stainless steel. “Seamless” refers to the clean, smooth join along the pipe rather than a folded seam. We also stock a variety of stainless steel parts including 45° and 90° bends, T-pieces, wall brackets, roof boots etc.

Below are flue kit examples that are suited for most homes. Parts can be added or subtracted for different ceilings, roof types, building heights etc. Alternatively you can make up your own configuration from the parts list at the bottom of this page. Insulated flue kits

This kit can be modified by adding or subtracting pipe lengths for different ceiling/roof heights.

Designed for a single storey, standard ceiling height installation where the flue exits through the lower part of a pitched roof as in the example diagram below. Single pipes are used from the fireplace to below ceiling level. These single pipes get extremely hot and enhance the efficiency of the fireplace by radiating extra heat into the room. Insulated pipes are used as a safety measure in all roof and ceiling spaces.

External flue kits

This kit can be modified by adding or subtracting pipe lengths for different ceiling/roof heights.

Designed to be used where the flue cannot go directly through the roof. The pipe goes up from the fireplace and then through the wall below ceiling level. The vertical section inside the room greatly improves efficiency by radiating extra heat. The external T-Piece catches condensation and has a removable base cover for cleaning. Although more costly, we recommend using insulated pipes on the outside wall instead of single pipes. This is done by fitting a male adaptor (MAD) above the T-Piece, substituting insulated pipes for the external single pipes and using larger brackets (SAWB200). If you need advice please contact us.
